I didn’t get a post up for last weeks Fight Night with Condit vs Alves, but I still had quite a bit of success with the card. I ended up tying for first in a DraftKings contest that awards a VIP UFC 189 trip to the winner. That means this weeks Fight Night is all the more important for me because we are having a tie-breaker contest with the winner receiving the UFC 189 trip. It’s such a sick package that I’ve done a lot of research and I will be passing that knowledge on to you.
You can see my lineup from last week for DraftKings here:
They’re running a $3 entry tournament this week as well. Click here to set your lineup for this event at DraftKings! Hopefully we could meet in Vegas.

Tim Boetsch vs Dan Henderson
Hendo is definitely past his prime and I don’t really think there are many ranked fighters in the Middleweight Division that he could beat right now. He’s lost 5 of his last 6 fights and the one win he had over Shogun was a lucky win in a fight that he had been getting dominated.
That said Tim Boetsch will be the weakest fighter that Henderson has fought in a long time. We will truly get to see if Hendo is done or if he’s just been biting off more than he can chew with fights against Mousasi, Cormier, Belfort, Evans and Machida. Even still, Hendo is not the favourite and rightfully so. He’s been pretty much destroyed in most of his past fights and if he doesn’t land that big overhand right I still think he loses this fight. And seeing as it’s a 5 round fight, it will likely be before a decision.
Play: Boetsch -188
Matt Mitrione vs Ben Rothwell
I watched a lot of both of these fighters last night to get a feel for how the fight might play out. I found that Mitrione is the more athletic and explosive fighter, but Rothwell can take a ton of damage and keep moving forward. That said I think the Mitrione has just too much power in his fists for Rothwell to be able to continue to move forward throughout this fight. I like Mitrione via knockout.

Dustin Poirier vs Yancy Medeiros
This is a great fight between two solid Featherweights. I have no clue why Dustin Poirier isn’t ranked at the moment seeing as his only loss in his last 5 fights came against a man who the UFC feels is good enough to challenge for the title in July.
I personally feel that Conor McGregor is a great fighter and I think that Poirier hasn’t been given the respect he deserves since losing to McGregor. A big win here will put him back on the map and that’s exactly what I expect from Poirier. Don’t get my wrong, Yancy is a great fighter with his only losses coming to Khabilov and Miller, but I think Poirier will catch him at some point in this fight.

My Other Plays
In the second fight of the night I like Ricardo Abreu to finish Collier (-116 @ 5Dimes.eu). I think Abreu is a real threat in the Middleweight division. He’s finished all 5 of his fights and I see him continuing to make a mark on the UFC.
