It’s been a couple weeks since UFC 179, but I would like to boast a bit with my 2-0 effort picking the main and co-main events on that card. Phil Davis really made it look easy against Teixeira, which really gave us a better picture of just how strong a fighter Glover is. And then in the main event of course, Aldo had a fairly dominant performance, but Mendes also looked very good, especially after almost being finished in the first round.
At UFC Fight Night 55 in Australia we have a very interesting main event between Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold. After that the card get’s a little light, but it is a Fight Night card so we can’t complain too much.

Michael Bisping vs Luke Rockhold
I personally think that Rockhold is one of the best Middleweight’s on the planet right now. I think he is only starting to get the recognition and the fights he deserves. He did lose to Belfort via a crazy spinning heel kick in his UFC debut, but he’s since got a couple of quick wins over some decent Middleweight fighters. He does have a win over Tim Kennedy on his resume as well just before the Belfort fight, and we all know what happened when Bisping squared off with Kennedy.
I can’t see this one going the full five rounds. Rockhold knows how to finish fights whether it be via submission or knockout. Bisping is now a gatekeeper who can still sell fights in the UFC and Rockhold is definitely going to prove he belongs among the elite at 185.

Ross Pearson vs Al Iaquinta
Pearson should be a ranked lightweight fighter in the UFC. His controversial loss to Diego Sanchez should really have been a win and that would mean he hasn’t lost since 2012 against Cub Swanson, who is now one of the top contenders at Featherweight. Pearson will win this fight and it should line him up for some more talented competition at Lightweight.
