UFC Fight Night Singapore Free Betting Picks

By MMA Fights

The UFC is headed overseas to Singapore this weekend and the Fight Night card will take place in local time, which means it’s an early morning card here in North America.  The prelims will be shown on Fight Pass and then the Fight Network will take over for the 4 main card fights starting at 8am EST.  I will be giving my pick for each of the main card fights below.

As always I’m going to be using the odds from BetOnline.ag for this article.  Here’s our full BetOnline review for you to check out if you’re interested in opening an account and placing some bets.

Holly Holm vs Bethe Correira

Holly Holm has not won a fight since her epic win over Ronda Rousey.  She lost her belt to Miesha Tate via a late submission in a fight she was winning and then was outstruck in her next two fights against Valentina Shevchenko and most recently Germain De Randamie.  She’s now been given a layup of a fight to get back in the win column against Bethe Correira.  Even after a 3 fight losing streak, Holm is still a massive favourite heading into this fight with Correira.  I’m not convinced she deserves to be this large of a favourite, but I don’t really see any paths to victory for Bethe, so I’m still going with Holm as my betting pick.

Holm is by far the superior striker and should be able to pick Bethe apart on the feet.  She has far superior footwork and she should be able to keep the distance and piece Bethe up from range while not taking much damage.  Correira does not have the power in her hands to finish Holm with strikes, she won’t out volume Holm and I don’t see her getting this fight to the mat.

I will personally be staying away from this fight because Holm is such a large favourite, but I really would be shocked if Holm were to lose this fight as well.

Play: Holm -625

Andrei Arlovski vs Marcin Tybura

Arlovski is on a four fight losing streak, but Tybura is a step down in competition from the guys that Arlovski has been facing of late.  Tybura has great kicks and a solid chin, but he does not have great striking or defense and Arlovski definitely still has power in his hands.  If Arlovski can land the first big shot I could see him getting a knockout in this fight.

Even though Arlovski is past his prime this is a big step up for Tybura and I’m not convinced he should be a more than 2/1 favourite over the UFC legend.  I’m on Arlovski because I really see this as closer to a pick’em fight than the odds indicate.

Play: Arlovski +208

Dong Hyun Kim vs Colby Covington

I’m very high on Colby Covington.  I was hoping this fight would open as a pick’em, but I’ll still be on Covington at 2-1 odds, I just won’t be risking as much.  Covington is one of the best wrestlers in the UFC and his striking has improved by leaps and bounds of late as well.  Stun Gun is a big step up in competition for Covington, but I think Colby will be up for the challenge.  He should be able to control the fight with his wrestling and Kim is not a submission expert so I don’t see Covington getting caught on the ground like he was against Warlley Alves.

This will be a huge win for Colby Covington and will put him on a path towards the title very quickly.

Play: Covington -205

Tarec Saffiedine vs Rafael Dos Anjos

Dos Anjos lost two fights in a row at lightweight and is now jumping up to welterweight.  He hand picked Saffiedine as his opponent because he seems him as a very winnable fight who’s ranking is likely better than his actual talents.  Saffiedine has lost two fights in a row, but his last loss to Dong Hyun Kim was a tight split decision and now that he is training at Tristar I expect him to continue to improve and also come out with a great gameplan.

If Saffiedine is able to use his reach advantage and striking to keep the distance against Dos Anjos I think he has a great chance to make this a fairly boring stand up battle where he could pull out a decision.

At this price, I’m leaning towards Saffiedine to get the job done.

Play: Saffiedine +250
